Approach

DSW provide a lot more than a mere transactional EPA service. We work in collaboration with training providers and employers to provide a seamless journey for apprentices, from registration through to certification.

We recognise that the apprenticeships landscape can be difficult to navigate at times, with unforeseen challenges along the way. Providers and employers need an end-point assessment organisation that recognises and steps up to these challenges.

We enjoy excellent relationships with employer groups, professional bodies, regulators and other key stakeholders. This privileged status enables us to identify and implement solutions quickly, removing delays and blockers to successful completion.

Delivery

Model

Our EPA delivery model is clear and concise for everyone involved, be that employer, training provider or Apprentice. See below for more details.

Initial Engagement

  • Provider meets with dedicated DSW account manager and schedules regular meetings
  • Provider registers apprentices on EPAPro for free
  • Provider, employer and apprentice gain access to DSW resources, including mock assessments
Pre-Gateway

  • DSW appoints assessor three months ahead of gateway to ensure capacity and expeditiousness
  • Provider uploads gateway documentation to EPAPro
EPA Commences

  • DSW Assessor makes contact with the provider and/or apprentice within two working days of gateway approval
  • A range of dates is made available and assessments are scheduled in
  • Apprentice chooses a platform for delivery (eg MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx)
Final Assessment

  • DSW provides platform and resources to enable remote assessment
  • Results and feedback issued within five working days of each assessment
  • DSW applies to ESFA for apprentice certificates
